About the app

Share a track from any music app and Remix.me saves the title and artist to a private want-to-remix list that syncs across devices and the web. Nothing is copied, converted or downloaded from a streaming service; the share saves a reference so the track is not lost.

The list is then watched. When stems for a saved track open up for remixing, you are told. You can also follow an artist and hear when they put anything up, or take one weekly summary of what is new. Every option can be turned off.

You can name your price for the parts you want, whether that is original source stems, an acapella, individual instruments or the project file. Your figures stay private and only the totals reach an artist or label deciding whether to open a catalogue. Every stem on the platform is uploaded and licensed by whoever owns it.

The story

A producer hears a track they want to flip and has nowhere to put that thought, so it evaporates. On the other side, a label sitting on stems has no way to tell whether anyone wants them. Remix.me is the ledger between the two: the want-to-remix list is private demand, the price you name is a private signal, and the aggregate is what finally gives a rights holder a reason to open the vault.

About the developer

Sylvain Corvaisier has been writing native Apple software since the first public iPhone SDK in 2008. He works from Rennes, France, under SAS Corvaisier, and has published 21 apps across 7 platforms, from iPhone and iPad through to Apple Watch, Mac, Apple TV, Android, Fire TV and Roku. Everything is built natively, one platform at a time, with no cross-platform wrapper in between. He also runs Vendredi App, a monthly workshop in Rennes where a working app ships in an afternoon.
