Question 1

How much does it cost to develop an iPhone or Android app?

Accepted Answer

With an AI-augmented native developer, a functional app can start at €500 excl. tax with source code delivery and installation on your device by end of the first day. A full App Store or Google Play launch (submission, validation, publication) averages €3,000 excl. tax per platform. These prices are possible thanks to 17 years of native mobile development experience combined with AI assistance.

Question 2

What is the difference between a native app and a Replit or Lovable app?

Accepted Answer

Apps generated by Replit, Lovable or Bolt are web applications wrapped in a native container (webview). Apple regularly rejects them under Guideline 4.2 (Minimum Functionality) and Guideline 2.5.2 which prohibits execution of unvalidated code. In March 2026, Apple blocked Replit updates on the App Store. Native apps developed in Swift (iOS) and Kotlin (Android) pass validation permanently.

Question 3

How quickly can I get a functional mobile app?

Accepted Answer

For a reasonably complex app, a functional version can be installed on your device by end of day. Subsequent iterations (adding features, fixes) happen over the following days.

Question 4

Will my app be accepted on the App Store?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Unlike disguised web apps, native apps built in Swift comply with Apple's guidelines by design. I know the validation process inside out after hundreds of submissions since 2008.

Question 5

Why not use React Native or Flutter to develop a mobile app?

Accepted Answer

Cross-platform made sense when you had to write and maintain two separate codebases. With AI assistance like Claude Code, developing natively in Swift and Kotlin has become as fast as maintaining a Flutter or React Native project, without the compromises. You get native performance, full compliance with each platform's guidelines, and no dependency on a third-party framework.

Question 6

Do you work as a freelance developer with B2B billing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Vendredi App is an independent freelance mobile developer working strictly B2B (corporate-to-corporate). Companies are invoiced directly, with a French SIRET and intra-community VAT number, no agency markup and no middleman. Invoicing in EUR, GBP or USD depending on the client's country. Standard corporate procurement is supported: purchase orders, NDAs, supplier onboarding forms.

Question 7

Do you also build apps for Apple TV, macOS, Roku, Amazon Fire TV or smart TVs?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Alongside iOS and Android, Vendredi App develops apps for tvOS (Apple TV), macOS, Roku, Amazon Fire TV and connected TVs (Samsung Tizen, LG webOS, Google TV / Android TV). Stack per platform: Swift and SwiftUI for tvOS and macOS, BrightScript and SceneGraph for Roku, native Android for Fire OS and Android TV, and React (the only stack Amazon supports on the newer VegaOS-based Fire TV devices). Source code is delivered. TV apps share a lot of architecture with mobile when streaming is involved (HLS, DRM, lean-back remote navigation).
