About the app

DJing DJ Pool publishes a new extended club edit each weekday, produced by DJing.com for the History of the DJ Mag Top 100 series. Every track is cut for mixing: a 64-bar progressive intro and outro, constant tempo, no fade, with BPM and genre written into the file so Rekordbox and Serato read them straight off.

Five downloads a month are free with no account and no sign-up. Browsing, previewing and playback are unlimited whether you subscribe or not, and tracks you have already downloaded stay yours, with re-downloads always free.

The tracks in the AI pool are original AI-generated instrumentals produced and owned by DJing.com. A title names the DJ whose era and sound it references; the tracks are not performed by, affiliated with or endorsed by the artists named.

The story

Record pools normally sell a subscription before a DJ has heard a single track, and the tracks that arrive are rarely edited for mixing. DJ Pool inverts both halves: previewing is unlimited and free forever, downloading is what the subscription lifts, and every file arrives already tagged and cut with the intro and outro a DJ needs. The app is explicit about the music being AI-generated and about who owns it, because a crate that is vague on rights is useless in a club.

About the developer

Sylvain Corvaisier has been writing native Apple software since the first public iPhone SDK in 2008. He works from Rennes, France, under SAS Corvaisier, and has published 21 apps across 7 platforms, from iPhone and iPad through to Apple Watch, Mac, Apple TV, Android, Fire TV and Roku. Everything is built natively, one platform at a time, with no cross-platform wrapper in between. He also runs Vendredi App, a monthly workshop in Rennes where a working app ships in an afternoon.
