About the app
Every evening at 9PM a new live quiz opens across dozens of topics: general knowledge, sport, cinema, science, history. Players answer against the clock, solo or against friends, and the leaderboard updates as the answers come in.
The other half of the app is the builder. Import a NotebookLM export, a PDF or your own notes and 9PM Quiz turns the material into a real-time scored quiz. Training centres use it to assess trainees across several sites at once, teachers use it for cohort checks, and companies use it for onboarding and certification.
Quizzes download for offline play and sync when the connection returns, which matters in a training room with poor wifi. Content is auto-translated in one tap, so a quiz written in French can be played in eighteen languages by the same group.
Key features
- A new live quiz every night at 9PM, free, across dozens of topics
- Build a scored quiz from a NotebookLM export, a PDF or your own notes
- Real-time synchronised play with a leaderboard that updates as people answer
- Detailed per-participant results, exportable, for tracking training progress
- One-tap translation into eighteen languages, and offline play that syncs later
The story
Quiz tools for training rooms tend to be priced per seat and per event, which makes an ordinary Tuesday assessment an expensive decision. 9PM Quiz started from the opposite end: a free daily game that anyone can join, with the same engine opened up so a trainer can point it at their own material. The 9PM slot exists because a recurring appointment is what turns a quiz app into a habit rather than a one-off.
About the developer
Sylvain Corvaisier has been writing native Apple software since the first public iPhone SDK in 2008. He works from Rennes, France, under SAS Corvaisier, and has published 21 apps across 7 platforms, from iPhone and iPad through to Apple Watch, Mac, Apple TV, Android, Fire TV and Roku. Everything is built natively, one platform at a time, with no cross-platform wrapper in between. He also runs Vendredi App, a monthly workshop in Rennes where a working app ships in an afternoon.
